Collaboration, collaboration, collaboration.

How can we use it to support our children?

Working together is critical to making sure your child has the best chance for success. But how can we make sure that what we do will benefit our child?

Here's what to expect in this newsletter:

Working together is what it’s all about!

Our recent research project with Thiscovery (more on that soon), showed that teachers, parents and healthcare professionals agree that, when everyone around the child works together, then we create the best chance for success.

The EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) is one tangible way of creating ‘collaboration’ - however, we are all aware of the challenges of creating one of these.

If you are struggling with this, we recommend contacting Sunshine Support.

‘Co-Creating’ is IN

Last week, we heard from Karla about scrapping New Year’s resolutions and switching to themes. One of our suggestions for these is co-creation with your children. It’s a great way to involve your child in the family, whilst supporting them to retain their autonomy.

Last week, we heard from Karla about scrapping New Year’s resolutions and switching to themes. One of our suggestions for these is co-creation with your children. It’s a great way to involve your child in the family, whilst supporting them to retain their autonomy.

Here are some of our ideas on different ways you can collaborate with your child:

  • Coming up with what they will have for dinner tomorrow;

  • Deciding on their new year’s themes;

  • Considering how they study best;

  • Designing their own sensory rooms (more on this next week).

But remember, every child, parent and family is different. What works for one, won’t work for everyone. So, that’s why these are only suggestions.

The key is in trying things and learning about the ‘profile’ of your child (and yourself!) - more on this soon too!

We are hiring

We have big plans for 2025 (& onwards), but to achieve these, we need need to grow our team!

We are now looking for an engineer to join our founding team!

Someone who ideally has a personal connection to the problem we are solving (young people’s mental health and the impact this has on families and schools).

Someone who’s willing to get stuck in, be flexible in the early days and be handsomely rewarded for doing so.

If someone you know may be interested, please do feel free to share this with them!

What we’ve loved this week

Best,

Mark & The Orli Team
